Transport

Bus

The D7 and D3 bus routes stop directly in front of the Ocean Wharf complex. A useful web site is Transport for London's Journey Planner. These two lines meet the Canary Wharf Tube and Dockland Light Railway stations. When catching a bus southbound from Canary Wharf to Ocean Wharf, find a D7 Poplar all saints or D3 Isle of Dogs bus. The opposite direction (northward) on these two routes is D7 Mile End or D3 Shadwell. Ocean Wharf is 3 stops southbound from Canary Wharf (if the bus stops at all three).

Tube

Canary Wharf is on the relatively new Jubilee Line of the London Underground in TFL zone 2. This line is clean, smooth, and quite safe with Platform-Edge doors.

Docklands Light Railway

The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) runs through the middle of the Isle of Dogs, and the closest station by foot is South Quay (real-time information, disruptions). South Quay is in TFL zone 2.

River

TFL have a section about river transport; a pier at Canary wharf is used for a service that goes West to Blackfriars St, Catherines Dock, etc, and eastbound to Greenwich and Woolwich Arsenel.

Airports

Westferry Cars is a mini-cab service located opposite in the Quarterdeck shops. Time to Heathrow (LHR) is around 45 minutes when three is no traffic and is around £45 - check with them for correct prices and travel estimates.

London City airport (LCY) is much closer - the DLR now connects to the airport (King George V line).

Gatwick (LGW) takes about 1:30 using the Jubillee Line to London Bridge, and then one of any number of services that go past there.

Stansted (STN) can be accessed using a coach from Stratford (using DLR to get to Stratford, zone 3), or taking a train from Liverpool Street Station (using DLR to Bank, circle line to Liverpool St).

Eurostar

The Eurostar now runs from St. Pancras: (link).

Cycling

Evans Cycles has opened next to Reuters on the South Colonnade in Canary Wharf, and has an comprehensive range of products and also does repairs/maintenance etc.

See also SiteFacilities and the TFL cycling page.

Car

See the TFL streets page. Note that driving into central London requires a payment of the Congestion Charge. See that web site for the current area bounded covered by the congestion charge, the times of operation, and costs. Almost all streets in and out of the zone are covered by cameras that record car registration plates and issue infringements if you have not paid.
